new Patron for NLC
North London Chorus are delighted to announce that Janis Kelly has accepted
an invitation to become the choir's new patron. Recently Janis lead an
exceptionally successful and inspiring residential weekend for NLC and it is
with great pleasure that we look forward to working with her in the future.
Janis Kelly
Janis Kelly is one of today’s leading opera
sopranos. She regularly appears for ENO, Opera North, Opera Factory and many
others. She has performed at the BBC Proms and with the Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra, The Halle and The Sixteen. She has recorded several CDs including
Showboat, Brigadoon and “A Little Night Music” and four award winning albums
for television’s “Inspector Morse”. Janis appeared as Liu Turandot in the
2003 Hollywood film “The Life of David Gale”. Recently she returned to ENO
as Iris Semele and in Orlando Gough’s For the Public Good. Plans include a
return to her role as Pat Nixon in the revival of Nixon in China at ENO.
